It's not the creamy espresso that the $500 machine I used to have made, but I really don't care. This thing doesn't require cleaning with a toothbrush. First though, this thing does not make espresso, it makes a coffee concentrate that is quite tasty or useful in its own right, but it is not espresso and lacks the crema you would get from a high pressure machine. I have a breville espresso machine and needed something better than the blade grinder I had. I also do drip coffee sometimes too and this has incredibly even grinds. I had a cuisinart grinder I bought at bed bath and beyond and it was terrible. At the finest setting it was probably about where I'd want my drip coffee to be. Not going to cut it for rich crema. I own several different coffee makers (French press, drip, espresso maker, etc.) and am constantly changing the grind to what I want and get perfect consistency every time. I can't live without it. The pouring lip of the replacement carafe is much better than the original carafe that came with the coffeemaker. The original carafe would drip and leak when pouring from a full carafe.
